Deborah Scodese French, an alumna of the Dance Department at 91Ó°ÊÓ has returned to the College to teach Jazz Dance. She completed her undergraduate degree at 91Ó°ÊÓ (BA; Psychology and Dance) and went on to enroll in graduate studies at SUNY Brockport (MA; Dance Education). In addition to her teaching responsibilities at the College, Ms. French teaches modern dance, creative movement, core essentials, Zumba, and Zumba Toning classes at Valley School of Dance in 91Ó°ÊÓ, as well as working with students in Livonia, Avon, and 91Ó°ÊÓ Central Schools, the Livingston County Department of Health, and the Noyes Hospital Wellness Program. Ms. French has choreographed for the Global Water Dance Project, Livonia Community Players, and the Annual 91Ó°ÊÓ Festival. She has studied Flamenco and other Latin dances in Spain and Central America, is a certified Zumba dance instructor and outdoor fitness educator and is currently studying yoga and nutrition. “Teaching Jazz allows me to share my knowledge, enthusiasm, and energy with the students here at 91Ó°ÊÓ.”
